Uplift Aerospace, a space technology company in Utah, is launching a dedicated EdTech Division to develop new virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence-powered learning tools.

The new EdTech Division will focus on building scalable digital training modules tailored to two core areas: classroom-based STEM education and workforce development. According to a recent news release, these modules are designed to increase learner engagement and retention while reducing the time and cost of training. The initiative aims to bridge classroom instruction with real-world skills, particularly in trades, technical fields and emerging industries, and reflects the company’s growing investment in experiential education aimed at both K-12 students and adult learners preparing for technical careers.

The expansion builds on the success of its STEM education platform, Starborn Academy, in Utah, Colorado and California, where its programs have already been implemented in schools and training centers. One notable example is the recent deployment across all middle schools in the Salt Lake City School District. Post-program surveys showed promising outcomes: 63 percent of students reported increased awareness of STEM careers, 52 percent expressed greater interest in pursuing STEM-related fields, and 43 percent showed heightened interest in computer science.

To lead the EdTech Division, Uplift has assembled a team of specialists in VR and AI who are developing personalized and adaptive learning experiences. These tools are expected to support both traditional classroom environments and professional training settings.

Educators and administrators can learn more about program offerings and explore partnership opportunities through the newly launched Starborn Academy website. A video on the site features testimonials from students, teachers and administrators detailing the program’s impact.

Starborn Academy functions as the education and workforce arm of Uplift Aerospace, which also engages in scientific research and commercial spaceflight. Through its immersive training tools, the academy aims to build proficiency via hands-on, problem-based learning that mirrors real-world challenges.

For IT leaders and educators exploring next-generation learning platforms, Uplift’s expansion underscores the growing role of immersive tech in education and upskilling — especially as AI and VR become more accessible in classroom and professional settings.
